Grace at Silvers

Grace swam in the "Silvers" meet this weekend at Hilton High School. When I say "this weekend", I mean all three days of the weekend. We were there Friday night, Saturday afternoon, back Saturday night for finals, Sunday afternoon, and Sunday evening for finals again. This is a meet you had to have qualifying times for. Grace was eligible to swim in seven events, and she made the finals in three of them. She swam a total of 10 times (note we were there for 16 hours) and had 9 best times. She had a great meet!

This picture is of her relay team on Sunday afternoon. Grace is in the back with the silver cap and polka dot towel. She had a great time!

We had company ...

We were blessed with Alex and McKenzie this week. They came on Tuesday to spend some time with Grace and Noah. This picture is of one of their many activities - ice skating at Open Skate at Webster Ice Arena. They had a great time whipping around the rink. They also went to the Y twice and to Horizon Fun Fx too. It was a whirlwind three days.
It's nice to spend time with your cousins!

SU Lacrosse

Today Lou took the kids to the SU vs. Denver men's lacrosse game at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. It was their first time at the Dome, and they had a great time. This picture is of Noah and Jon G meeting the Orange mascot. They also go to go down on the field courtesy of Mr. Gaglio and his connections! Lou was a good sport about taking the kids as he went to Urgent Care first thing this morning and was diagnosed with a double ear infection. It was a long day on the bus for him, but he stuck it out for the kids. SU won, and Grace and Noah saw their first collegiate lacrosse game!

DARE graduation

Grace along with the fifth grade at Plank North "graduated" from the D.A.R.E. program last week. Lou and I were able to attend the ceremony. Grace was honored for her essay and received special recognition for her work. The superintendent "dared" the kids to stay off drugs and to remember this promise when they walked across the stage at graduation in 2018.

Grace turns 11

Today Grace turned 11! Lou and I are wondering where the time has gone. For her birthday dinner, she chose Red Lobster. Lucky for her (since she doesn't like ice cream or sweets), the server brought her a bag of their yummy biscuits to take home and sang her Happy Birthday!
We had a nice meal despite Noah being under the weather. He was home from school today but didn't want to keep Grace from going out to dinner. So he was a trooper!
Happy 11th birthday , Grace!
