Kershaw Park - Memorial Day 2012

We spent Memorial Day as a family at Kershaw Park in Canandaigua. It was super hot, so we enjoyed being by the water.

Simon's tree planting ceremony - May 25, 2012

Simon's two schools in Webster came together to plant a tree in his honor. Simon died at the age of 11 on October 23, 2011. He lived on our street and was Grace's best friend.

Noah's orchestra and chorus concert - May 22, 2012

Noah played in his last orchestra concert. He is giving up the cello after two years.

Grace lax Brighton - May 20, 2012

Grace's Webster team played in the Muddy's Buddies lacrosse tournament. They played three games and won all of them. Grace had fun despite the soaring temperatures!

Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester - Mother's Day 5K - May 13, 2012

Grace ran the BCCR 5K on Mother's Day. She ran for my mom who is a breast cancer survivor. She smoked it - 24:37!

Flower City Half Marathon - April 29, 2012

Yes, it was my second half marathon in April and within a two week span. I had trained with Fleet Feet (a local running store) and met some great folks along the way. I was fighting shin splints, so I opted to walk/run and not worry about my time. I hadn't met these three lovely ladies when I started training in January, and as you can see we had a blast!

McKenzie turns 9 - April 22, 2012

We celebrated McKenzie's 9th birthday at Shannon and Jack's house in Syracuse. The kids had fun posing for the obligatory cousin photo!

More+Fitness Half Marathon in NYC - April 15, 2012

I participated in an all women's half marathon in NYC - 8000 women ran the course through Central Park. Shannon invited me along with her friends, and we had a great time shopping and running.

Justin pitches in Rochester - April 11, 2012

Justin is now playing for Pawtucket. He was the starting pitcher against the Rochester Red Wings. The whole Germano family went out to see him on a chilly 37 degree night.

Easter Sunday - April 8, 2012

We celebrated Easter at Stacy's house this year. After we had brunch, the kids headed outside for some fun!

Grace Select Music Concert - March 27, 2012

Grace was invited to participate in the select music concert. She played with three other clarinet players. They all wore pink to stand out as a group. 

EOY celebration - March 23, 2012

Noah's hockey team had their end of year celebration at the Webster Ice Arena. In addition to pizza and cake, each player was honored by Coach DeYoung with a special award. Noah's was the B.O.B. and Red Bull award - his trick was to bounce the puck off the boards and head down the ice to score, and he never quit so Coach thought he was taking an energy drink to keep going!

Niagara Falls - March 18, 2012

We took advantage of being in Buffalo for Noah's hockey tournament and went to Niagara Falls, Canada on Sunday. It was unseasonably warm as you can see from how the kids are dressed! We had fun walking around town and checking out the Falls.

Noah's Webster Squirt B team played in a hockey tournament in Buffalo this weekend. He had fun playing but also in the hotel pool!

Grace swims Golds - March 16, 2012

Grace qualified for the Golds Meet this year. She swam in three events and did very well. We are so proud of her!

Running - Winter 2012

Winter running has been pretty uneventful this season due to our unseasonably mild January and February. My friends Lourdes and Jen ran with me at Mendon Ponds Park on February 25. The picture on the left is what it looked like before we set off. The picture on the right is us in 3" of snow after running 10 miles with the last 5 being a veritable whiteout. Such fun!

Boulter Tournament - March 1, 2012

Noah's team played in the Boulter Hockey Tournament in Webster. They played three games and missed the finals by a half point. Noah scored 6 goals in total including a hat trick in the first game where Nama came to watch!

Grace at the Silvers Meet - February 25-26, 2012

Grace qualified for and swam in the Silvers Meet at Hilton Middle School. She achieved a GOLD TIME in the 100 back and will be swimming at Golds on March 16.

Noah hockey - February 15, 2012

Noah had another good game for the Webster Cyclones. He is loving hockey!

Grace's chorus concert - January 28, 2012

The Spry sixth grade chorus sang for an audience of family and friends. Grace is taking chorus as well as playing clarinet in the band.

Grace's team wins league lacrosse championship - January 8, 2012

Grace was invited to play on a team of 5th and 6th graders in the 7/8 league at TSE this winter. They didn't have an affiliation and called themselves "UnderEstimated" since no one really knew who they were or how they could play. The girls were undefeated going in to today's last game as was their opponent. They played the modified team from Webster Thomas - grades 7 and 8. The UnderEstimated team won by two goals in a hard fought game!

Noah hockey - January 8, 2012

Noah scored his first ever hat trick today in the game against the other Squirt B team from Webster. They won 7-1.

Fun on Maplewood Lane - January 8, 2012

Noah's friend Zac has a four wheeler and was taking advantage of the little bit of snow we got last night to pull some other kids around on a sled. You can see Noah in the back and their friend Conor running behind. Noah is wearing a helmet because they had done this last weekend, and Lou told him not to go on the road or he would crack his head open. Well when he came in that night, Noah had a huge scratch on his face from wiping out - in the road. So luckily Noah listened to Dad ... and had a great time in the process!

Noah hockey vs Batavia - January 7, 2012

We traveled 60 miles west to Batavia to watch Noah's hockey team play. Noah is now at center, and his team won 2-1. Noah scored both goals. He was excited to lead his team! Noah is in the yellow, #88, as his original jersey was WAY too big and is "in the shop" being downsized. He is thinking he might want to stay with this one though!

New Year's Day 2012

Shannon invited us to Syracuse to celebrate New Year's Day with them. We had a great dinner of roast and chicken divan. The cousins all had fun together. The weather was so mild that they spent a lot of the day outside.

New Year's Eve 2011

We were lucky enough to be invited to two parties this year. We first went to the Riders' house in Fairport. We have been celebrating New Year's Eve with them since 2004.

Then we went to the Kilians' house. That's Lori on the left with my friend Jen and me. These are the girls I ran the half marathon with last year and will do more running with in 2012!

Christmas with the McKenzies - December 26, 2011

You can see Mom with Alex who is now 12 and then all the cousins together - Grace, McKenzie, Noah, Alex, and Charlie. We had a fun day celebrating Christmas with the McKenzies!

Christmas at the Waidls' - 2011

We spent Christmas afternoon as always with the Waidls in Penfield. Joe and Deb, our hosts, are Lou's aunt and uncle. The pictures above show Lou and his godson Joey with Noah. We attended the 4pm service on Christmas Eve this year, and my mom came along to enjoy it with us. Afterward, my friend Lori took this great picture of everyone in front of the tree!

Germano get together - November 25, 2011

Lou's cousin Tony and his wife Jill hosted the Germano clan to an evening of fun and games after a nice dinner at Nick's SeaBreeze Inn in Irondequoit.

On the left are two pictures of two Grace Germanos! My Grace and her cousin Grace from CA - Richard's daughter. They hadn't seen each other in four years ... The picture of them together in 2007 at Hank's Ice Cream Shoppe is on top, and the picture of them from the Germano get together is on the bottom. (You probably could figure that out!)

The second picture is of Noah, Lou, and Lou's brother Richard who was visiting from California.
